The Sandbox reveals The Sandbox DAO, empowering the community to fully control the virtual world

Exciting news in the gaming world! The Sandbox has just introduced The Sandbox DAO, a decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) to empower its community.

If you’re a user of The Sandbox holding SAND tokens or LAND NFTs, you now have the power to vote on network improvements through Sandbox Improvement Proposals (SIPs). This is a fantastic opportunity to shape the future of The Sandbox ecosystem.

With just five SAND or one LAND, you can participate in voting on the initial proposals to kickstart the DAO’s activities. The community will have a significant say in the platform’s evolution while the developers will continue to oversee key operations.

The Sandbox team expressed their excitement about community involvement, stating, “Members will have a voice in directing critical funds allocation and deciding on the next Game Jam theme.”

The rollout of the DAO will happen in three phases starting on May 28. Each phase aims to ensure thorough testing, address any post-launch issues and set the stage for long-term success.

Sebastien Borget, as a co-founder of The Sandbox, will lead the council, which includes industry leaders like Yat Siu, Shannon Snow, and Jean-Michel Pailhon. This diverse team will vet SIPs and provide valuable feedback to drive the project forward.
