AMF issues warning to Bybit crypto exchange
Breaking News: French Financial Market Authority takes action against Bybit!
Big news from the French Financial Market Authority (AMF) – they have officially blocked access to Bybit’s website due to unauthorized activities in France. Check out the AMF’s latest statement for more details.
It’s important for digital asset service providers (DASPs) like Bybit to register with the AMF before offering services in France. This helps ensure compliance with regulations, prevent illegal activities like money laundering, and protect investors.
On another note…
AMF warning extends to Bitget
In addition to Bybit, the AMF has issued a warning against Bitget for similar violations. Like Bybit, Bitget is not registered as a DASP and has been blacklisted by the AMF as of Nov. 7, 2023.
Let’s not forget the past – last year, Binance’s French subsidiary faced scrutiny for allegedly operating illegally. However, they turned things around in May 2023 and obtained a license to provide crypto services in compliance with French regulations.
